Oregon
City area.
The Clackamas
County
Soil and
Water
Conservation
District
has been
awarded
a grant
to facilitate
the creation
of a watershed
council
to improve
local
watershed
conditions.
This group
will be
charged
with creating
an organization
that will
be recognized
by the
County
and City
that will
follow
the guidelines
of the
Oregon
Plan.
The Oregon
Plan was
developed
to create
local
constituency
groups
that can
meet the
needs
for local
restoration
and protection
of aquatic
resources.
See www.oregon-plan.org
for details.
Typically
councils
conduct
watershed
assessments
and then
develop
action
plans
to implement
projects.
Projects
that could
be developed
include
stream
enhancement,
fish barrier
removal,
landowner
education
and conservation
planning.
